As a new product in the marketplace, I wanted to create packaging that would attract consumers to pick it up off the shelf. I didn’t want the info on the packaging to overwhelm them (educating one on the benefits of Alkaline water can get complicated). My goal was to “inform and delight.” On the front of the box I used the rainbow colors of the pH scale for our (brand identity) circle and I used the purple that represents alkaline on the pH scale for the product name: “alkaline pitcher.”

For the other 3 panels of the box, I kept the language and imagery simple and colorful to support the friendly and accessible tone I set on the front.
The product was also a finalist for the Nexty Awards at the Natural Products Expo West trade show.

Every year New Wave introduces a new product at the Natural Products Industry Tradeshow, but up until the release of Alkaline Pitcher Filter they had never applied for a NEXTY. The Executive Team was so proud of the new brand look and product packaging design that they decided to enter– and finished as one of the top three.
The NEXTY Awards are the pinnacle recognition of excellence in the natural products industry and are awarded to one stand-out product in 22 categories.
